Pick
an eBook Topic that will Sell
The
first step of writing an eBook (after reading The
eBook Education of course) is to select a topic.
As you try to pick an eBook topic that will actually sell,
consider the following factors and do your research before
you proceed.
How
big is your target audience?
If
your topics appeals to a broad segment of the population,
it will be much easier to get into contact your target audience.
In addition, certain topics appeal to people for different
reasons, and if you develop a product that fits in this
category, you will be able to represent and market your
product in multiple ways. For example, The
eBook Education could be marketed from the
perspective of someone looking to self publish, or to those
looking to start an automated online business. The more
ways you have to pitch your product, the more valuable your
topic.
Are
they easy to reach?
The
target audience of most e-books is people searching for information,
and the best place to target these people is through search
engines. Generally, you want to pick a topic with lots of keyword
possibilities and a high number of monthly web searches. Do
extensive keyword research before you write anything, to both
size up the competition and figure out if there is a market
for your topic.
Does
the topic solve a common problem, or save people time/energy?
Your
topic should present a unique way look at a situation, and/or
save people time or money. The value will primarily depend of
how many people have the problem and are actively searching
for a solution. The more return your book will provide to the
end user, the more you can charge for it.
Will
people actually pay for it?
This
question is hard to answer. If you have a product that targets
a large audience, lots of keywords, and unique ways to pitch
your product, you will do well. When picking a final topic
for your eBook, think from perspective of the customer and
do your research! Learn more about selling
